Speaker Day Two: Johnathon Lee

Most of his 20+ year career in EMS has been spent in the critical care environment, the majority of which was on Toronto’s Bandage One helicopter.  In 2010, he changed focus and joined the Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team at Ornge.  Jonathan’s background in medical education includes roles with several services and basehospitals; he is currently involved in delivering both classroom and clinical education in Georgian College’s Paramedic Program.  He can be found on Twitter @thatjonlee.

Session: Ouchies and Owies: Pediatric Analgesia.

Prehospital pediatrics can be challenging at the best of times, and no one wants to see a child who hurts.  Please join me for a uniquely pediatric approach to assessing and managing pain.  Topics include a review of the evidence for narcotic, non-narcotic and non-pharmaceutical analgesia as well as a look at prehospital specific pain literature.  Regardless of your level of care, you will find something in this session to make your next pediatric patient’s trip much more comfortable!
